At Empower Muay Thai, our programs are designed with one goal: to meet every student where they are and help them grow — physically, mentally, and emotionally. Whether you’re a beginner who feels uncoordinated, a child learning self-discipline, or an adult seeking stress relief and resilience, our coaches create an environment where everyone can succeed.
Our coaches are more than martial arts instructors: they are certified Peer Support Specialists with backgrounds in healthcare and defensive tactics. That means every program is grounded not only in authentic Muay Thai lineage, but also in whole-person growth, safety, and community.
Muay Thai (Adults & Teens)
From zero experience to confident striker.
Our Muay Thai program is built for every level — from absolute beginners to
experienced fighters. If you feel uncoordinated or out of shape, we’ll help you
build balance, rhythm, and confidence step by step. As you progress, you’ll
learn authentic Fairtex-lineage techniques: stance, striking, clinch work,
padwork, and conditioning.
Why it matters: Muay Thai is for every body. Some students want fitness, some want self-defense, and others want to test themselves in sparring. We support every goal and respect every pace.
Youth Muay Thai (Ages 4–17, Level-Based)
At Empower Muay Thai, we group kids by developmental stage rather than strict age cutoffs. This ensures every child feels challenged but not overwhelmed, and parents can see their kids thriving at their own pace.
Our approach is different:
Why the Nak Muay Army?
The name wasn’t something we dreamed up in a marketing meeting — it came from
the kids themselves. One day, after seeing a whole line of students training
together, Kru Fred said: “Wow, I have a whole army of Nak Muays!” (Nak
Muay means “Muay Thai fighter.”) The students lit up, and the name stuck.
Now, every child who joins feels like part of something bigger — not just a class, but an army of teammates learning, growing, and cheering each other on. It captures both the playfulness of our youngest Recruits and the pride of our teens stepping into leadership.
Recruits (ages ~4–6)
Playful introduction to movement, focus, and
teamwork through drill games with no winners or losers. At this stage, it’s
about joy, balance, listening, and having fun.
Why it matters: Kids learn structure in a supportive, non-pressured
environment, building confidence and social skills.
Cadets (ages ~7–8)
More structure and movement challenges. We
introduce coordination drills, simple combinations, and padwork — always safe
and age-appropriate.
Why it matters: Kids thrive on encouragement and clear boundaries, channeling
their energy into discipline and confidence.
Troopers (ages ~9–11)
Students handle more responsibility and
complexity. More advanced combinations are introduced, light conditioning
begins, and they can now “win” or place in end-of-class drill games.
Why it matters: Kids this age crave responsibility and thrive on measurable
growth. We give them a safe outlet to grow grit, self-mastery, and resilience.
Infantry (ages ~12–17)
Training intensity rises, with advanced
drills, conditioning, and optional sparring. Teens are challenged as emerging
adults, developing leadership and resilience.
Why it matters: Teens gain confidence, healthy identity, and the ability to
carry themselves with respect — on and off the mats.
A Note to Parents
We specialize in kids who may have struggled elsewhere — those labeled “too shy” or “too energetic.” We’ve taken kids who were asked to leave other programs and watched them thrive here. Empower Muay Thai is a place where every child can be themselves, grow at their own pace, and discover confidence through community.
Punch Back DETAC (Self-Defense Programs)
Defensive Tactics for Every Community.
Our DETAC system (Defensive Tactics) draws on law enforcement training, adapted
for real-world self-defense. Programs include:
Formats:
Why it matters: Most self-defense programs stop at awareness drills. Ours combines authentic techniques with the psychology of violence, teaching students not only how to defend themselves, but how to live safer every day.
Somatic Trauma-Informed (STI) Muay Thai
This program is designed for students who want to gently reconnect body and mind — especially those carrying trauma, anxiety, or stress. Classes are slower paced, with an emphasis on grounding, breath, and body awareness, while still teaching real Muay Thai technique.
Students may complete the STI 10-week course
or transition into regular Muay Thai when they’re ready. Additionally, a student may come to any Muay Thai class 15 minutes early and request an STI warm up to ease the transition.
Why it matters: Trauma lives in the body — and movement can heal. STI
allows students to regain trust in themselves, find community support, and then
(if desired) join the full Muay Thai path.
Cardio Muay Thai
High-energy, pad-based workouts using real
Muay Thai strikes. These classes strip out sparring and complexity, focusing
instead on calorie burn, endurance, and conditioning.
Why it matters: Students get the fitness benefits of fighters without
the bumps and bruises.
Open Gym / Open Mat
Independent training time with full access to our bags, pads, mats, and conditioning equipment.
Special Programs
Why it matters: Martial arts is about community. These programs extend training beyond regular classes into events that build fun, teamwork, and connection.
